n Control Cargo Group we are aware that today’s steel industry is prepared to compete. Since the 90s it has grown faster than the economy pace and has tripled its capacity.

In recent years the government has invested more than 11,000 thousand 500 million dollars in equipment and technological systems suitable for manufacturing, export and import.

This industry represents 2.2% compared to the national GDP. In the last decade, Mexico has had an average growth rate of 1.47% above the rest of the world, which grew at rates of 1.16%.

Which means that a global level, Mexico occupies the 13th position among the steel producing countries, with 1.13% of total global production.

In Latin America, Mexico is the 2nd largest producer with 27.7% of the regional total. In 2013 there were produced 18.2 million tons of steel.

However with the growth of this industry, the bad practices that lead to more accidents, causing economic losses and loss of life, are raising as well.

Many accidents, some coming to result in death or serious injury, continue past today during handling and storage of steel materials. These accidents have a high social and economic beyond the human tragedy.

Ironically the investigation of these accidents shows in general, that they could be avoided mostly.

Major accidents that occur include:
globe People falling from or to vehicles (Including fall when lowered or raised to unity).
globe People to be impacted by the load during mechanical handling (This takes the load from the person directly impact or handling vehicle as crane or hoist the person caught between the load and the vehicle).
globe People being crushed due to the drop in load from a vehicle.
globe People being hit by vehicles while they usually reverse run.
globe People hurting themselves when performing malpractices like jumping off a charging unit.
globe Not to mention the large monetary losses that this entails.

All persons involved in loading steel, handling, transfer and discharge should take extra precautions to avoid the risk of accidents. That’s why in Control Cargo Group we care about the integrity and quality of all products of our customers, and especially for the human lives that collaborate in the middle.
